Help to grow our next generation of environmental champions.
The aim of our project is to bring back life to a cleared area outside the Year 3 and 4 classrooms. We will plant native flowering plants, lay pavers, establish a small vegetable patch and compost food scraps. Students will plant and water the garden and they will design features such as a pollinator house and bird feeder. As the students establish and maintain the garden they will learn about food production, plant lifecycles and sustainability through hands-on learning. They will understand the vital role of pollinators in the plant lifecycle. Students will develop skills in background research and collecting data as they monitor insect life in the space.
