Year 11 Sydney Camp 2026
Our aim in the Secondary School is to produce young people who are equipped for life, work, and service. We hope to build competence, resilience and a Christ-focused vision. While receiving a high-quality education from experienced and supportive teachers, our Secondary School students are also able to participate in sports, social activities, camps, and recreation days.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
– Philippians 4:6-7
My name is Bonnie Armstrong and I am the Head of Secondary at Launceston Christian School. With over 20 years of teaching experience, I bring a deep commitment to Christian education and a strong focus on supporting students to grow academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.
I am married and have six stepchildren, along with two much-loved Golden Retrievers. Creative, positive, and determined, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, travelling, watching films, completing jigsaw puzzles, and discovering new cafes and restaurants with delicious cuisine. A growing passion of mine is visiting op-shops and markets, where I enjoy giving new life to hidden treasures - particularly quirky and vintage clothing.
As a leader, I strive to be encouraging, present, and approachable. I am committed to building positive and meaningful relationships with staff, students, and parents, and I place high value on clear communication, collaboration, and teamwork.
At the heart of my role is a desire for every student at Launceston Christian School to feel known, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential. I am passionate about nurturing a strong culture of connection and compassion, where both students and staff can flourish within a supportive, Christ-centred community.

Years 11 & 12 can be some of the best years of your life. It is an opportunity to learn and grow in subject areas that you are passionate about as you work towards your lives beyond school.
In years 11 & 12, subjects are chosen for future pathways and LCS offers an extensive range of courses accredited by the Office of Tasmanian Assessment, Standards and Certification Authority (TASC)
Here at LCS, we offer a distinctive program with a full range of TASC subjects, VET course opportunities while still maintaining a Christ Centred focus. You will have the opportunity to choose subjects that are of interest to you and that will help equip you for your life beyond school. You will also have opportunities to take part in interstate school camps to Sydney and Melbourne, and special trips such as the Northern Territory trip and the Mt Hotham Ski Trip (run on alternate years).
At LCS we place a strong emphasis on our Pastoral Care time where we aim to ensure that our students are well grounded in biblical principles and can leave our school confident in their faith and with the tools to share their faith.
