Launceston Christian School (TAS) is a co-educational independent K-12 Christian School which aims to provide a caring and stimulating environment for learning. The school is distinctively Christ centred and is committed to providing effective spiritual, emotional, physical and academic support for all its students.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and committed Christian professionals for two fixed-term Student Wellbeing Officer positions, each covering a 12-month period of maternity leave. These roles are offered on a part-time or full-time basis. The positions are set to commence at the beginning of Term 3 on 21 July 2025, with the possibility of a casual handover period prior to this date if available. Each position is subject to a 6-month probationary period.

Position Summary:

Student Wellbeing Officers are an integral part of the student support team at Launceston Christian School. They work across a broad client base in a range of environments, supporting students to be equipped to face mental, emotional, social, and relational challenges. Student Wellbeing Officers develop and support programs to engage and assist vulnerable students in classrooms, in dedicated Wellbeing spaces, outdoors, and during non-class and class times. They are focused on providing multi-tiered supports to students with the aim of growing hopeful, resilient individuals and groups that are equipped to face life’s challenges and contribute positively to their communities.

Student Wellbeing Officers are required to show initiative in planning and organising their time and activities, to be innovative in responding to community and individual challenges, and flexible and collaborative as part of a student support team. Applicants will need to be:

  • Practicing Christians, actively involved in their local church and able to subscribe to the School’s Mission Statement and Educational Creed.
  • Qualified in either nursing, social work, youth work, chaplaincy, social sciences, child and family welfare, or a related discipline
  • Registered with a current Working with Vulnerable People (Employment) Card.
