Year 7 - 9

Middle School students are provided with an enjoyable, safe and supportive environment in which to grow academically, emotionally, socially and spiritually.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Middle School is an exciting time of change, growth and discovery. It consists of Years 7, 8 and 9 and serves to support, encourage and empower students as they transition from Junior School. In this area of the school, we aim for students to become more independent, responsible and resilient.

At LCS, we want students to value learning and to focus on making progress rather than seeking perfection. Students are encouraged to do their best and to continually seek growth and improvement.

We endeavour to create an environment where all students feel valued, respected and have a sense of belonging. A strong emphasis is placed on developing positive relationships with both teachers and peers.

In Year 7 and 8 students experience a wide range of subjects. In Year 9 students are able to choose from a selection of subjects that they want to pursue.

Some of the option subjects include Design Graphics, Drama, Design Technology, Math Methods, Music, Advanced Science, Legal Studies, Computing and Visual Art.

LCS also runs an important mentoring and personal development program with all Year 9 students called The Rite Journey. More information about this can be found by clicking on the link provided.

My name is Bonnie Armstrong and I’ve been teaching at LCS for over 12 years. I am passionate about Christian education and I’m excited to be the Head of Middle School for 2022.

I’m married with six stepchildren and two fur babies. I am creative, bubbly and determined. Some of my favourite things include sunshine, chai lattes, quality time with friends, good food, jigsaw puzzles and travel. My favourite quote is “comparison is the thief of joy”.

I strive to be a leader who is encouraging, present and relatable – someone who develops positive and meaningful relationships with staff, students and parents. I value good communication and love working as part of a team.

I’m thankful to God for this amazing opportunity and look forward to connecting more with the school community through this role.
