Teacher Aides

Launceston Christian School (TAS) is a co-educational independent K-12 Christian School which aims to provide a caring and stimulating environment for learning.  The school is distinctively Christ centred and is committed to providing effective spiritual, emotional, physical and academic support for all its students.

Suitably qualified and committed Christian professionals are invited to apply for the Teacher Aide positions available in 2025. Hours of work are Monday to Friday, between 8.30am and 3.30pm during school term times only. Days and hours are open to negotiation.

 

Position Summary

Teacher Aides are a vital part of the school community. They support classroom teachers, allowing them to be more efficient and effective in meeting the needs of all students. Under the direction of a teacher, a Teacher Aide can: 

• complete administrative tasks related to teaching and learning
• provide supervision to a class while the teacher is working with a small group or specific students
• provide social/emotional support to students
• provide structured, evidence-based intervention programs to groups of students. 

 

Teacher Aides are valuable support for camps and excursions. They also support the spiritual formation of students through prayer and faith filled interaction.

 

Applicants will need to be:

• Practicing Christians, actively involved in their local church and able to subscribe to the School’s Mission Statement 
• Registered with a current Working with Vulnerable People (Employment) Card

Commencement Date:  28th January 2025
