Brief

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and committed Christian professionals for a full‑time Secondary Teaching position commencing 27 July 2026. This is a fixed‑term contract for Terms 3 and 4, replacing a staff member on Long Service Leave, with the possibility of an ongoing appointment.

Working as part of a collaborative and dedicated secondary teaching team, the successful applicant will deliver engaging, well‑aligned curriculum across Years 8 and 9 English and Humanities, along with a Year 10 Business Studies class. We are seeking a teacher who is passionate about Christian education, committed to professional excellence, and eager to contribute to a thriving school community.

 

 

Applicants will need to be:

  • Practicing Christians, actively involved in their local church and able to subscribe to the School’s Mission Statement and Educational Creed
  • Registered with the Tasmanian Teachers Registration Board
  • Currently registered to Work with Vulnerable People in Tasmania (employment category)

Position Summary

The Secondary Teacher will:

  • Bring a distinctly Christian worldview to all aspects of teaching, learning and relationships
  • Teach Years 8 and 9 English and Humanities and Year 10 Business Studies within a collaborative Secondary School team
  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, well‑aligned learning programs based on the Australian Curriculum and the school’s published curriculum
  • Foster a safe, supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student wellbeing and growth
  • Support the spiritual, emotional, social, physical and academic development of every student
  • Differentiate learning to meet diverse needs, abilities and learning styles
  • Design dynamic and challenging learning sequences that motivate, extend and inspire students
  • Build positive, professional relationships with students, families and colleagues
  • Contribute actively to the wider life of the school, including devotions, events and co‑curricular activities
  • Uphold and model the mission, values and Christian ethos of Launceston Christian School
