Launceston Christian School is one of the few colleges in Tasmania to incorporate a Grade 10 to 12 structure. We recognize that when our adolescents reach the age of about 16 they are becoming increasingly independent.  Many of them have part time jobs and many are only a year or two away from a full time career.

Including Grade 10’s in the college dovetails well with the state governments raising of the compulsory age of schooling to 17.  Grade 10 is less an end point as it once was and it is important that students feel they are provided for in an education that has continuity.  At the Launceston Christian School College we aim to continue a Christ centred education and continue to prepare students for their chosen field. Our Pastoral care teachers are responsible for a small group of Grade 10 to 12 students.  These teachers keep an oversight of their students to help ensure they are progressing as well as they can.

Not only is it a great pleasure to see our students continue to develop in the results and faith but the College years are also a time when students can begin to sow back into the community.

Being a K-12 school there are many opportunities for our students to develop leadership and mentoring skills as they interact with our younger students. We also get the opportunity to enjoy their more finely tuned skills at various performances throughout the year.  Our music, drama and arts departments provide an excellent vehicle for this.Ultimately we desire our students to grow into a life that will glorify and honour God.

It is our prayer that this would be the case.
